Markus Class wins the 5th round of the IDM German championship in Cheb

Cheb (Czech Republic), 27 August 2017. MH Husqvarna racing rider Markus Class has won the 5th round of the 2017 German IDM Supermoto championship in the S1 class in Cheb, Czech Republic. With this win Class extends his lead in the championship.

In the time practice Markus Class already set the fastest lap before Markus Volz and Czech rider Milan Sitniansky which showed he was again the man to beat in this round of the championship. In both races the fast rider from Worms, and runner up in the 2017 World championship, was too fast for the competition. In race one, Class finished in first position with a lead of 9.330 seconds on second rider Milan Sitniansky who finished in second. Third position in race one was for Markus Volz also on Husqvarna. Race two was also won by Markus Class with a lead of 7.172 seconds of second rider Andy Buschberger from Austria. Bodo Schmidt Motorsports rider Markus Volz finished again in third place in Cheb. With his two race wins, Markus Class was off-course the overall winner in the S1 class followed by Markus Volz. Czech Honda rider Milan Sitniansky completed the podium of the S1 class in Czech Republic.

  1. Markus Class, 50 points (25+25)
  2. Markus Volz, 40 points (20+20)
  3. Milan Sitniansky, 36 points (22+14)
  4. Andre Plogmann, 34 points (18+16)
  5. Steffen Abrecht, 31 points (13+18)

In the S2 class. the overall victory was again for Dutch Honda rider Ruurd van Roozendaal. Van Roozendaal won both races in Cheb and with his win the Dutch rider extended his lead in the championship.

 

For the S1 class the next round of the championship is on 9 & 10th of September in Schwanenstadt, Austria. For all other classes the next race is the final at the Harz-ring, German on 30 September and the 1st of October 2017
