Over the next few weeks there is little break in the schedule for multi British Supermoto Champion Chris Hodgson.
Recently returning from Spain, where he joined a group of riders in pre season training, Chris is now in preparation for his assault on both the British and AMA championships. He will certainly be racking up the air miles over the next month, with visits to events in the UK, flying to Las Vagas for a warm up event. This will then be followed by a long trip over to the west coast of the United States for round one of the AMA championship in Bakersfield, California on April 7th – 8th.
Prior to his trip stateside, Chris will be centre stage representing Supermoto UK and the British Supermoto Championship at the Manchester Motorcycle Show, where an anticipated 25,000 eager bike fans flock through the doors. March 25th – 26th will see the third year in a row that supermoto has been represented at this popular event and as ever Chris will be in big demand for interviews and autographs from bike fans, both young and old.
After the Manchester event Chris will grab a few days at home before taking his flight to Las Vegas where from the 31st March, to the 1st April he will be out on the DRT Racing and 48 Racing sponsored Husqvarna tearing up the tarmac at the purpose built ‘Buffalo Bills Casino’ circuit.
The road trip then continues with just one week prior to round one of the AMA taking place, a dash from Vegas to Bakersfield in preparation for round one will see Chris put even more miles under his belt. Full details of the event can be found here:
However, the hectic schedule doesn’t stop there…….after the conclusion of the AMA event Chris will then head to the airport for his return trip over the Atlantic to prepare himself for the opening round of the British Championship taking place on Easter Sunday at the home of supermoto, Three Sisters, Wigan.
”My recent trip to Spain allowed me to experience valued bike time ahead of a packed schedule here in the UK and overseas. For me events like the Manchester Motorcycle Show are an important part of promoting my sport and I am always happy to help where I can. I am certainly looking forward to chatting to visitors, and who knows we may encourage a few new riders into the British Championship?
I’m really looking forward to my trip to the USA and with the resent addition of the Las Vegas race this will provide me with an opportunity to gain some further practice prior to the main AMA championship event. Although over next few weeks I will be travelling a great deal, the opportunity to ride in the AMA will all be worth it. I can’t thank all those who have made this happen enough, I just want to get things under-way now so I’m counting down the days until my flight to the USA.”
On my return to the UK I will be focusing on starting the British Championship with my new team, using early season testing as a benchmark I feel confident and my aim is to set an early lead in the 2017 Championship.”
If you would like to support Chris with sponsorship toward his USA trip, or his British Championship season then he would love to hear from you. If so please leave a message on his official Facebook page.
