Austrian Championship S1 class
Rudi Bauer #69 was extra encouraged to do well at this demanding circuit despite his broken collarbone . In the qualifying Bauer reached a third position behind Manuel Hagleitner #33 and Andy Bushberger #77. With Bernhard Hitzenberger #74, the 1st row was complete.
Manuel Hagleitner dominated race 1 + 2 clear before Rudi Bauer. Behind these riders Andy Bushberger, Bernhard Hitzenberger, Roberg Gattinger #99 and Markus Larcher #20 fought a hot duel for 3rd place.
In race 3 Hagleitner took the best start before Bauer and with fast laptimes he quickly got an advantage on Bauer and Buschberger. A small crash from Hagleitner threw him back to 3rd position and Rudi Bauer could take the lead. Behind Bauer it was Andy Buschberger who took 2nd place. Hagleitner was able to catch up with the leaders but could no longer go for the race victory. Bauer and Bushberger fought until the last corner in a “hot” clash, but it was Rudi Bauer who took the victory in this race.
